Honda FCX Clarity

Honda’s model chief said that the Japanese automaker is sticking to its target for lease sales of its fuel-cell FCX Clarity car after over a year since its launch despite the challenges of boosting productivity.

However, the Honda FCX Clarity is still a long way from production with a total of just 10 cars on the road in the U.S. and Japan.

Honda is targeting lease sales of about 200 cars in the first three years between the two countries combined. It aims to have the cars in the showrooms by 2015.

The FCX Clarity is powered by an advanced lithium-ion battery pack and a 5,000-psi hydrogen storage tank. It produces a total of 134-hp and gets a combined fuel-economy of 74 mpg according to EPA mileage estimates. The car is capable of going 280 mile range on one fill.
